The Swimmer

The Swimmer is Colson’s most recent sculpture. In fact it is a work in progress that has not yet received a high polish shine. This piece is Italian marble from Carrara, Italy. It is one of three given to him by the late Vincent Palumbo, head carver at the National Cathedral. Carrara marble is made of very fine crystals that carve very well and capture the light in an amazing way.
