Sculpture for Scarborough Faire

My latest commission will be installed at a wonderful shopping center called Scarborough Faire in Duck, NC. Recently I visited the site and introduced visitors to stone carving during their "Faire Days" held every Wednesday throughout the summer.

The theme of the stone sculpture is shells found on the North Carolina Coast. The sea provides us with a natural treasure hunt and a walk down the beach is never the same once you begin to recognize a few shells. It is my hope that the sculpture will encourage people to be more conscientious stewards of our coast by taking an interest in shells and the creatures that inhabit them.
