Ready for Casting

The portrait shown above is made from modeling clay and was seen and approved by Dr. Collins. The next stage was to cast the head using the ‘waste mold’ technique. This, again, called for the expertise of our friend Malcolm Harlow. He guided me through not only the stages of casting, but introduced me to new uses for olive oil, liquid ‘bluing’, green soup and double dipped enamel pans.
